Walter KLITZ
Director of the Foundation in Jerusalem
Walter Klitz was born in 1951. He became Director of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation in Israel and the Palestinian Territories in July 2012.
He began his professional career in the German Air Force where he served for eight years and became the assistant of the Deputy Minister of Defence. After studying law in Bonn/Germany he was conferred admission to Senior Civil Service and became the Head of Staff and Legislative Advisor of the Chief Whip of the Free Democratic Party in German Parliament and held a key position at a time when Germany prepared for unification. He joined the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Liberty in 1994. After the collapse of the Iron Curtain, he became Director of the new Project Baltic States in Tallinn/Estonia. From 1996 to 2000 he was Executive Manager and Spokesman for the Department “Press, Public Relations and Communications” at the Foundation’s head office in Königswinter (Bonn) and later in Potsdam (Berlin). From 2001 to 2005 he was Representative of the Foundation at the United Nations and the Bretton Woods Institutions in Washington D.C./USA. After returning to Germany in 2005 he served as Head of the Central, South East and East European Desk. From 2007 to 2012 he was in charge of the project in South Korea and in North Korea.
Anne Cohen-Köhler
Head, Israel Desk
Anne Cohen-Koehler, born in Germany 1974, married with a son and a daughter. After her mid-exams in Germany she moved to Israel to continue her B.A. and M.A. in German Literature, Contemporary Jewry and Yiddish Language and Literature. She lives in Jerusalem since 1997 and works for the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Liberty since 1999. Since several years she has been coordinating the projects in the Israel Desk.

Suleiman Abu-Dayyeh
Head, Palestine Desk
Born in Beit Jala, Palestine. Holds an M.A. in Social Science. Studied at the University of Bochum,’ Münster, Bonn and Bremen. Married with three children (two daughters and one son) He worked after returning to Palestine in the tourism sector and since the year 1994, he is leading the Palestine Desk at the Friedrich Naumann Foundation in Jerusalem. He also works as a lecturer of sociology at the University of Bethlehem.

Amir Bar-On
Project Assistant, Israel Desk
Amir Bar-On, born 1975 in Israel. Studied Political Science and History in the Universities of Haifa and Tübingen. He works for the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Liberty since 2011.
Rana Alami
Project Assistant, Palestine Desk
Rana Alami is a Palestinian born in Jerusalem in 1972. She graduated from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro, USA with a B.S in Leisure Studies (focus on Travel & Tourism) and Geography minor. She is a mother of two daughters. She has been working at FNF since the year 2001in the position of Palestine Desk Assistant.
Georgette Habashi
Financial Controlling
Georgette Habashi, born in Jerusalem, holds a Business Administration degree from Bethlehem University. Single and lives in Jerusalem since birth. Working with Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Liberty for the last 6 years in the position of Financial Controller.

Estie Dayan
Accountant & Administration
Estie Dayan was born in Jerusalem, Israel. Between 1973-1993 she lived in the U.S.A and Europe, mainly in Austria. She studied Sociology, Educational Research and Hebrew Literature at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and in Los Angeles. Since 1994 she works for the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Liberty in Jerusalem as a bookkeeper. She has two adult sons.

Vivian Farran-Mashni
Executive Secretary
Vivian Farran-Mashni, born 1980 in Jerusalem, holds an LL.B and a certificate in Feng Shui consulting. She is married with three children. She works for the Jerusalem office of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Liberty since 2004 and holds the position of executive secretary.
