GTZ project on “Palestinian Local Elections”

The project was funded by GTZ and managed by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation in Jerusalem, in cooperation with our partner MARSAD

Project Title: Democratization of local governance through the local election process. Project’s timeframe from January – September 2010.

Overall Objective:

Strengthening local democracy and democratization of local election process through cooperation and creating awareness among major stakeholders

Specific Objectives:

1. Reviewing the local election law and drafting amendments

2. Encouraging active participation and representation of women and youth in the debate on the legal framework of elections
